INFORMATION: Exam schedule available here (word)

Examination
procedure
The
students will deliver a synopsis on
the 19th November 2004, upon which the oral
exam will be based in January. You will be allocated examination
times between the 4th and the 6th January,
or the 11th and the 14th January. Please note
that both the synopsis and the oral examination can be in either
English or Danish, according to your preference. You can work
individually or in groups.
Please
remember that the only obligatory pensum for the exam
corresponds with the list of readings (kompendium + some photocopies
+ web texts) detailed in the course plan.
The main objective of a synopsis is to allow you to set the
agenda yourselves, so that you are examined exactly on topics
that interest you and that you are strong in within the course´s
scope. You will be asked about some of the course literature
if there is an obvious link with your theme, since you need
to demonstrate that you know the pensum.

Note on the exams (october 04):
The reason for this lot of dates in January is that as you know
I am pregnant, scheduled to give birth at the end of January,
and therefore would like to go på barsel as early in January
as possible, also to make sure that there is no anticipation
of the birth and I can actually take you to the exam. Since
we didn´t know all this ages ago when the exam dates were
fixed, I have asked the exams office for permission to do the
exams a week before (4, 5, 6) as originally planned. However,
we still have to maintain the old dates (11, 12, 13 and 14 )
because since it was published in the course base, students
will have the right to be examined in those dates as well. Since
there are various days and times available, I am hoping that
all of you can make the exams in the first week (4, 5, 6), so
that I will stop working here on the 7th January. After that,
I cannot really guarantee my presence at the exam, but in any
case there would be a substitute in place should something happen.
However I am pretty confident that I will take you to exam myself
as long as it is in the first week, so no worries. :-)
The point
of the course exam as you know is to check how well you know
the pensum. You pass the exam, and you get your 7,5 ECTS. However,
there are usually a few students who would like to take the
course a bit further, since there is not really a lot of time
during the semester to go deep into interesting matters, for
those, there is the possibility of doing a 4-week project supervised
by me (which gives you 7,5 ECTS more), going in-depth with one
of the course issues. The project shouldn´t be like the
synopsis, since you will be examined in the same week about
both. It is an excellent chance to form a group and go explore
a topic thoroughly, also maybe testing some of the methodologies
we have worked with. It could be a pilot study for a larger
project or speciale, and I tend to think it is a great idea
to work in groups for this.
