Things are never silent in the rainforest; you're continually surrounded by the sounds of parrots, tree frogs, birds and insects. We'd particularly been warned about drop spiders, which sit in a tree waiting for some prey to pass, then drop down onto it, but we the worst problem we had were mosquitos.
