This is a small sawmill close to where we invited ourselves to dinner. Most of the people who live along the river have a subsistence lifestyle, but for those who want more, one of the few ways to make money is to cut down the trees. The large, foreign owned timber companies, however, do most of the logging that is really threatening the region.
