Travelling in China was hard work but we were always glad to get back to our room in Red House which was basically a suite and had the luxury of satellite tv where we watched the first bombing of Afghanistan, and, surprisingly, a program about the repression of the Falun Gong in mainland China on BBC World. During our time in the country we didn't come across any state censorship or blocking of satellite news or websites in internet cafes.
